The cities and counties in the Wenatchee Valley are covered under the Eastern Washington Phase II Municipal Stormwater Permit, issued by the Washington State Department of Ecology. One element of the permit requires cities and counties to evaluate the effectiveness of their stormwater programs for protecting water quality. The Wenatchee Valley Stormwater Technical Advisory Committee has partnered with Goldstreet Design and Corona Insight to evaluate a stormwater program implemented throughout our community.
Stormwater programs in our community are intended to protect water quality and mitigate impacts from flooding. By evaluating our current programs, the WVSTAC will be able to take steps to improve the programs. The City of Wenatchee is acting as the lead agency for this effectiveness study which will be conducted throughout the Wenatchee Valley. For more specific information about the current effectiveness study, please contact the City of Wenatchee, Project Manager, at 509-888-3235.
