Project Description

McNeil Runaway Ramp:

Douglas County will be constructing a truck runaway ramp on McNeil Canyon Road.  The project site is located on the north side of McNeil Canyon Road approximately 3.1 miles north of State Route 97.  The road is designated as a major collector and serves as an important farm-to-market route.  The section of roadway above the project site is characterized by long, steep grades through mountainous terrain. The project will provide runaway vehicles with a means of safely decelerating. The work will include cut, fill, and grading activities, placement of a 1,220 LF pea gravel arrestor bed along with the installation of guardrail and stormwater facilities.  

Rock Island Road Guardrail:

Install 285 LF of Beam Guardrail Type 31 and 4 guardrail technical assemblies.

 
Project Status

The project will be advertised for bids on October 20, 2016.

 
Traffic Impacts

Periodic single-lane road closures can be expected during construction.
