The proposed project would include reconstructing 1,136 linear feet of roadway from S Lyle Avenue to S Mary Avenue. The roadway section will receive an overlay of hot mix asphalt over crushed surfacing and will increase the curb-to-curb width to 34 feet. Curb, gutter, and 5-foot wide sidewalk will be installed along the length of the corridor. New sidewalks will connect with rapidly developing peripheral residential areas to existing pedestrian infrastructure adjacent to Clovis Point Intermediate School. All deficient curb ramps and driveway entrances will be improved or replaced to meet the American with Disabilities Act requirements. Illumination will be added at the entrance to the school and major intersections and striping and signage upgraded to improve pedestrian and driver safety. An existing gabion basket retaining wall east of the school will be removed and replaced with a retaining wall constructed at a more appropriate distance from the roadway to allow for continuation of the existing sidewalk and improve clear-zone safety.
Roadway will be closed during construction.
This project is scheduled to go out for advertisement in the Fall of 2019.
