Land Services - Special Projects

This program area encompasses a wide variety of limited duration tasks assigned by the Board of Commissioners. Economic development initiatives, Endangered Species Act responses, and representing the County at community forums are examples of special project assignments. Link to this program area for more information on current activities.

Special projects are those items that either have limited applicability to Land Services, are unanticipated events, are new initiatives requested by the Board of Commissioners, or that have no clear county departmental responsibility and they find their way to Land Services by default.

Watershed planning, salmon recovery, regional governance discussions, the Downing Townsite Water System Improvement Project, economic development initiatives, the Pangborn Industrial Area sewer project, farm worker housing, and Census 2000 activities are examples of some of the topics considered of a special nature.

Further information on the above referenced issues may be obtained by calling us at (509) 884-7173. This page will also periodically list new postings for significant current activities.
