The Douglas County Board of Commissioners adopted Ordinance TLS 12-01-02 on January 3, 2012.  This ordinance amended the Douglas County Code as it relates to the Washington State Energy Code (WSEC 2009) and the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC 2012) as both relate to building construction activities in the unincorporated portions of Douglas County.  The ordinance allows the use of the IECC 2012 as an alternate to the WSEC 2009, authorizes the building official to adopt administrative provisions to bring the standards of the IECC 2012 to a point of equivalency with the WSEC 2009 and repeals Ordinance 11-04-31B that was adopted in September 2011 and which allowed the use of an alternative version of the IECC 2012.

The Douglas County Building Official adopted revisions (FAR-12-01) to four tables in the IECC 2012.  These revisions allow the IECC 2012 to achieve equivalency with the WSEC 2009.  This adoption occurred on January 17, 2012 and become effective immediately.
