NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Douglas County intends to adopt amendments to the Countywide Comprehensive Plan and the Greater East Wenatchee Area Comprehensive Plan and Development Regulations.  The draft amendments were transmitted to the Washington State Department of Commerce on November 8, 2018 in accordance with RCW 36.70A.106.   

COUNTYWIDE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENTS
  • PANGBORN   A comprehensive plan land use map amendment and zone change of approximately 131 acres from Dryland Agriculture and Commercial Agriculture 10 to General Industrial in order to expand the Pangborn Industrial Service Boundary to the north and east.
  • A comprehensive plan land use map amendment and zone change of approximately 26 acres from Commercial Agriculture 10 acres.  The amendment is located to the west of the East Wenatchee Urban Growth Boundary adjacent to SR 2/97 at Baker Flats.  This amendment is to occur concurrently with the draft expansion of the East Wenatchee Urban Growth Boundary.
  • COUNTYWIDE PLAN   Amendments to the size narrative for urban growth boundaries found in the Population and General Land Use Chapter (Chapter 3)

GREATER EAST WENATCHEE AREA COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT:  The 60 day review for these amendments are jointly sponsored by Douglas County and the City of East Wenatchee.

  • BAKER FLATS   A comprehensive plan map amendment and zone change/urban growth boundary amendment of approximately 26 acres from Commercial Agriculture 10 acres to General Industrial.  The draft map amendment is located to the west of the existing East Wenatchee Urban Growth Boundary in the vicinity and immediately adjacent to Baker Flats.  This amendment is to occur concurrently with the draft amendments to the Countywide Plan. 
  • GEWA PLAN   Amendments to the size and location narrative for the Baker Flats Industrial Area found in the Industrial Section of the Land Use Chapter (Chapter 3).

The 60-day comment period commences on November 8, 2018 and concludes on January 7, 2019.  Proposed amendments will be considered at a public hearing to be determined.
