NOTICE OF ADOPTION
 

PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 36.70A RCW, notice is hereby given that on March 3, 2020 the Douglas County Board of Commissioners adopted the following: 

  • Ordinance TLS 20-01-10B, adopting amendments to Douglas County Countywide Comprehensive Plan and Douglas County Code Title 18 Zoning.
  • Ordinance TLS 20-02-10B, adopting amendments to the Bridgeport Comprehensive Plan and Municipal Code as the apply to the unincorporated portions of the city’s urban growth area.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Douglas County Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing during their Wednesday, February 12, 2020 meeting. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Douglas County Public Services Building hearing room located at 140 19th Street NW, East Wenatchee, WA.  The public hearing is part of the meeting agenda and will begin after the meeting is convened.  The proposed amendments include: 

  • Remove zoning safety zones and FAR Part 77 Surfaces from the west end of decommissioned Runway 7-25 at Pangborn Airport.
  • Amend building setbacks and screening standards for adjacent industrially zoned properties.
  • Amend maximum building height for agricultural refrigeration, packing and storage facilities.
  • Adopt amendments to the Town’s of Bridgeport and Waterville Comprehensive Plans and Zoning Codes as they apply to the unincorporated portions of the Towns’ urban growth areas.

A Determination of Non-signifiance has been issued for the proposal in accordance with the State Environmental Policy Act.  The Planning Commission will be accepting public testimony on the proposal to make a recommendation on whether the amendments should be adopted.

NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Douglas County intends to adopt amendments to the Countywide Comprehensive Plan, Zoning Code and comprehensive plans and zoning codes from the Towns of Bridgeport and Waterville as they apply to the unincorporated portions of their urban growth areas.  The draft amendments were transmitted to the Washington State Department of Commerce on October 22, 2019 in accordance with RCW 36.70A.106.   

 

AMENDMENTS:

  • PangbornAirport - Amendments to the Douglas County Capital Facilities Plan as part of the annual budget process.
  • Industrial Setbacks and ScreeningAmend building setbacks and screening standards for adjacent industrially zoned properties.
  • Ag Building Height- Amend maximum building height for agricultural refrigeration, packing and storage facilities.
  • Bridgeport - Amend Bridgeport Comprehensive Plan and zoning code as it applies to the unincorporated portions of the Town’s urban growth area.
  • Waterville - Amend Waterville Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code as it applies to the unincorporated portions of the Town’s urban growth area.

The 60-day comment period commences on October 22, 2019 and concludes on December 23, 2019.  Proposed amendments will be considered at a public hearing to be determined.

  • Capital Facilities Amendments to the Douglas County Capital Facilities Plan as part of the annual budget process.

The 60-day comment period commences on September 16, 2019 and concludes on November 15, 2019.  Proposed amendments will be considered at a public hearing to be determined.
